Fix your Eyes

We have good intentions to fix our eyes on Truth

How easily our minds wander off course. 
We have good intentions 
 to fix our eyes on Truth 
but before we know what happened 
we are deep in mud, slinging filth 
at anyone who stands too close. 
Thank God for second
third and fourth 
chances. 

Get up 
get out of the pit
take a bath in the 
cleansing Word of Truth, 
standing on the solid 
Rock, 
fixing your eyes 
straight ahead
to the only One who can keep 
your mind in perfect peace,
Jesus.
