A quick way to clean your dusty chandelier

From Drab to Fab!

I like the teardrop chandelier in my bathroom.  It gives the room a little glamour, but there’s nothing glamorous about the dust that collects on these little lights!  And did I tell you I had to actually hook all these little teardrops on to assemble?  Well, once is quite enough for me.  I’m not about to take them all apart to clean!  So here is what I did to clean them without taking them all apart!

First, I unscrewed the light bulb and put a Ziploc baggie around the socket, tying the top with a rubber band.  Then I dusted the crystals with a duster to remove any loose dust.

Then I took an ice cream bucket and hung it underneath the light fixture.  Using Windex (or whatever you use for cleaning mirrors, vinegar would probably work too), I sprayed all the little crystals.  â€‹

I was sure to cover all the crystals with a fair amount of spray, letting the bucket catch all the extra that dripped down.  I let it sit for a bit until most of the spray had dripped off.

While still damp, I wiped the crystals with a soft cloth. I removed the baggie around the socket and replaced the bulb.  That’s all there is to it…
